God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.

What will happen to you when you die?  Do you know?  If you don't know, you should be worried.

One of two things will happen when you die.  You will either go to Heaven or Hell for eternity.  This life is extremely short compared to eternity.  We should spend our lives on this earth preparing ourselves for eternity.

This was written for those who want to go to Heaven but may not know how.  It's not hard.  Eternal life cannot be earned - it is a free gift from God.  It doesn’t matter what you have done in your life, everyone can receive eternal life in Heaven.  Here's how you get it:

  1. We are all sinners - me, you, every man and woman on this earth.  The only person who never sinned is Jesus Christ.  We are separated from God because we are sinners.  Jesus Christ is God's only provision for man's sin.  Through Him you can know and experience God's love and God's plan for you.  Believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead - the punishment for sin is death, and Jesus took the burden of all of our sins when He died for us.  You must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  It's not enough to just go to church.  Ask Jesus to come into your heart (pray right now - a sample prayer is at the end of this page).
  2. Read God’s Word – the Bible.  This is how God communicates with us.  Everything you need to know about is in the Bible.  Through His Word, we are convicted.  Through the Bible, we learn about God and how to strengthen our relationship with Him.
  3. Live by faith.  It is impossible to please God without faith.  Believe that Jesus died for us.  Trust that God forgives us.  Have faith that there is eternal life for those who obey God’s law.
  4. Repent – ask for forgiveness of your sins – and mean it with all of your heart.  Try to live a better life – a life like Christ – help others, forgive others, do good works, etc.  Get baptized - the Holy Spirit will come into your life at this time – it will help you along your Christian walk.  It’s like your conscience.
  5. Find a church home and attend regularly.  Fellowship with other Christians.  Church is the place where you can receive good teachings on the Word of God and experience the joy in worshipping Him.

Once you have done this, and meant it with all of your heart, you have the hope for eternal life - a spot waiting for you in Heaven.  You will not stop sinning - none of us will, but we can try to stop and we can live better lives.  You heart will change - you will not live a better life because you feel that you have to - you will do it because you want to.  You will want to read the Bible.  If you have already read some or all of it, reading it now will mean more to you – the Holy Spirit will help you understand it.  You will want to share this message with all of those you love.  If this feeling doesn't happen immediately, don't give up.  As long as you live on earth, you have a chance to accept God.  Keep praying and reading the Word.   Satan is now threatened by you – he will try to keep you away from your Christian life – be aware of this and ask God for help staying away from his temptations.

God Bless!

Sample prayer to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior:

Dear God, I’ve been living my life my own way.  Now I want to live it Your way.  I need You and I am now willing for You to take control of my life.  I receive Your son Jesus Christ, as my personal savior and Lord.  I believe He died for my sins and has risen from the dead.  I surrender to Him as Lord.  Come, Lord Jesus, and occupy the throne of my life.  Make me the kind of person You want me to be.  Amen.
